A Great Place to Live

The National Association of Home Builder's most recent
"Housing Affordability Index" ranks the Greater Binghamton MSA in
the top ten Metros for Housing Affordability in the nation as printed in the
May 2004 edition of Expansion Management magazine. In our opinion, the
ability to afford a decent place to live and to be able to send one's
children to quality schools are by far the two most important categories in
evaluating a metro's overall quality of life. Residents enjoy the perfect mix of rural and urban lifestyles as well as a low rate of
crime and excellent schools. The County also offers an abundance of natural resources and many interesting
things to see and do. Click here for the Tioga County Activities Board.
You can take a nostalgic ride on a restored railroad, go canoeing on the Susquehanna
River, take in a community festival, test your skill on a round of golf, or just take a peaceful stroll into nature's kingdom. It's a great place to live as well as a great place to
raise a family.
