In addition, portions of Tioga County are designated by New York State as an Empire Zone, which provides for a number of additional incentives.

FirstEnergy's (Penelec) electric service area spans nearly one-half the area of New Jersey and Pennsylvania and the Waverly and Town of Barton area of Tioga County.

Valley Cities Gas in Sayre, PA is a natural gas distribution company serving 11 communities in Bradford County, PA and Tioga County, NY which includes Waverly and parts of Town of Barton.
